The waste water treatment plant extends over 140 ares, sized for 19,641 equivalent inhabitants and a water quantity of 112 liters per hour. Its construction will ensure the removal, cooling and purification of waste water from the Chirpan area before it is released into the Tekirska river, feeder river of Maritsa. The leading pipes from the sewage network will ensure the connection of approximately 70 % of the water supply of the town, and the applied new UV water disinfection technology significantly improves the ecological condition of the users.
